Supermarkets offer numerous dried noodle products, as well as packaged noodle meals in Asian-, Italian-, and American-style flavors. Noodles can provide a healthy lunch or dinner if you purchase low-fat, low-sodium meals or add low-fat items to dried noodles. Here are some shopping tips:

  • Opt for dried noodles with high fiber content, such as whole-wheat varieties.
  • Choose packaged noodle meals that are lower in sodium.
  • Keep your choices to meals that contain 30 percent or fewer calories from fat.
  • Select products with little or no added sugar.
