Several of Carl’s burgers and other menu items contain more than half the number of calories adults should consume in a day, and in some cases, more than the total amount of fat recommended per day.

For example, the Guacamole Bacon Six Dollar Burger weighs in with 1,140 calories and 85 gm fat; the Western Bacon Six Dollar Burger, 1,130 calories and 66 gm fat; the Chili Cheese Fries, 1,010 calories and 57 gm fat; and the Bacon Swiss Crispy Chicken Sandwich, 720 calories and 35 gm fat.

Healthier choices include the Big Hamburger, with 470 calories and 17 gm fat; the Kid’s Burger, with 460 calories and 17 gm fat; the 3-piece Chicken Strips, with 420 calories and 25 gm fat; the Charbroiled BBQ Chicken Sandwich, with 360 calories and 4.5 gm fat; the Charbroiled Chicken Salad, with 330 calories and 8 gm fat; and the Side Salad, with 50 calories and 2.5 gm fat.

If you order a salad, be sure to top it with the Low-Fat Balsamic Dressing, with 35 calories per packet, instead of the other dressings that range from 200 to 310 calories per packet.
